Incoming Juventus boss Thiago Motta does not want to lose Adrien Rabiot in the upcoming summer transfer window, in a blow for suitors Aston Villa.

The French midfielder will soon be out of contract but Juventus are keen to convince him to sign a new deal.

The Serie A giants are reportedly set to hold talks with his representatives next week over a new contract and Juventus want an answer either way soon.

Aston Villa are interested in getting their hands on the Frenchman, with Unai Emery a big fan, but Rabiot could have one more reason to stay at Juventus.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset (via TuttoJuve), incoming Juventus boss Motta is keen to keep hold of Rabiot.

The Italian is set to be appointed as their new manager and he wants Rabiot to stay at Juventus.

He trained the midfielder at Paris Saint-Germain when he was in charge of their academy team and remains a fan of the player.

It has also been claimed Rabiot could agree to a financial sacrifice in order to get a chance to play under Motta again.

The development could damage Aston Villa’s chances of signing the Frenchman.
