Manchester City scouts have scouted Werder Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer and ‘suggested him to their boss’ Pep Guardiola as a possible signing this summer.

Ederson has two years left on his contract with Manchester City, but the goalkeeper is considering his future at the Etihad Stadium.

The Brazilian star has been a regular in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up since he joined the club in 2017.

Due to an injury, Ederson missed the last few games of the season, and the Manchester City boss kept his faith in Stefan Ortega.

It is suggested that the Brazilian international is drawing interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Now, despite Ortega being at the club, the Premier League champions want to further strengthen their goalkeeping options in the event of Ederson leaving.

According to German magazine Sport Bild (via Fussball Transfers), Manchester City could make a move for Werder Bremen’s Zetterer.

Manchester City’s scouts have spotted the shot-stopper and have been so impressed that they suggested him as an option to Guardiola.

Werder Bremen are at risk of losing the goalkeeper this summer as he has a release clause in his contract which is valid until the middle of June.

Zetterer started this season on the bench but forced his way into the team and made 27 Bundesliga appearances.
