Champions League club Juventus have identified Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as a potential replacement for Adrien Rabiot this summer.

The Serie A giants are in talks with Rabiot over a new deal and are optimistic about getting a deal over the line.

However, the Frenchman has other options on his table and there is a real chance that he could leave the Turin giants on a free transfer.

Juventus are still pushing to keep Rabiot, but they are also preparing for the possibility of the midfielder leaving in the coming weeks.

And according to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Aston Villa midfielder Luiz has emerged as a potential option for the club.

The Brazilian played a key part in helping Aston Villa qualify for next season’s Champions League and is a major player at the club.

Juventus, who are also in next season’s Champions League, are likely to try and sign him if Rabiot moves on from the club in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa are set to demand a fee of €40m if Juventus make an approach to sign Luiz in the coming weeks and months.

It has been claimed that the Villans could consider signing Juventus’ Weston McKennie as part of a deal that would see Luiz move to Turin.
