Celtic are facing competition from Stoke City, Coventry City and several other clubs in Europe in their pursuit of Lausanne-Sport midfielder Alvyn Sanches, according to the Daily Express.

The 21-year-old Swiss midfielder has emerged as a target for several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

His performances last season at Lausanne have led to speculation of him leaving the club in the coming weeks.

Celtic have been keeping tabs on him for several months through regular scouting missions and have been left impressed by the midfielder.

Brendan Rodgers is convinced about Sanches and Celtic are expected to try and sign him this summer.

However, the Scottish giants are likely to face serious competition from clubs south of the border and sides in Europe.

Championship pair Stoke and Coventry have their eyes on Sanches and are interested in getting their hands on him.

Clubs in Germany, France and the Netherlands have also been closely tracking the midfielder.

Any side wanting to sign him would have to meet Lausanne’s £4.3million asking price for Sanches.
