Manchester United contacted Borussia Monchengladbach talent Winsley Boteli, who has been on Everton’s radar, earlier this week.

The German outfit brought in the 17-year-old from Servette in the summer of 2022 and his performances for their academy side have attracted attention from several European outfits.

He is of interest to Everton and the Premier League side have been tracking him.

Boteli is highly rated at Gladbach and they have already offered him a senior contract, which the player has yet to accept.

Boteli has caught the attention of Manchester United and according to German daily Bild (via TZ), the Red Devils made contact with the youngster early this week.

Manchester United assistant manager Mitchell van der Gaag, who previously worked with Boteli’s advisor Christopher Mandiangu at PSV Eindhoven, contacted the player.

He is due to turn 18 on Friday and would then be able to sign a professional deal.

Boteli has one year left on his development contract and Manchester United would have to pay a transfer fee in the event of a move.

If he refrains from signing the deal on the table at Gladbach then the battle for his services is only likely to intensify over the coming weeks.
