Brighton Hove & Albion’s valuation of Aberdeen linked Jeremy Sarmiento is beyond the Scottish outfit’s budget, according to journalist Scott Burns.
Aberdeen went through a disastrous campaign last season and they are keen on not repeating last season’s mistakes.
The Dons have appointed Jimmy Thelin as their new manager and he has a tough task on his hands to make the team competitive again.
Thelin wants to add firepower to Aberdeen’s attacking department and it is suggested that the Dons are interested in Brighton’s Sarmiento.
The 22-year-old left-winger joined Brighton from Benfica in the summer of 2021 and has 19 appearances for the senior team in his bag.
Aberdeen have been linked with the Ecuador international regarding a possible summer move but it has been claimed that Brighton’s valuation of Sarmiento is above the Dons budget.
Any thoughts of a move to Pittodrie for the attacker appear wide of the mark.
Last season, Sarmiento joined Ipswich Town on loan and turned some heads with his performances.
Aberdeen have already brought in some new faces and they are linked with several players in the ongoing window.
