Newcastle United are still keeping an eye on Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio this summer.

The 22-year-old centre-back is a product of the esteemed Sporting Lisbon academy system and has 171 senior appearances for the club under his belt despite his tender years.

Last season, Inacio featured 32 times in the league for the Portuguese outfit as they marched all the way to the title.

The centre-back is a wanted man in the ongoing window and he has a €60m release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract.

Newcastle failed with an attempt to sign the young centre-back in 2022 and were linked with an interest in Inacio earlier this year.

According to Portuguese outlet Sapo Desporto, Newcastle are still keeping an eye on Inacio this summer.

Despite landing Lloyd Kelly, Eddie Howe wants to bring in another centre-back.

The Portuguese has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Inacio has three years left on his contract and it is suggested that Sporting Lisbon value him at €44m.
