A Rangers star who is ‘due to leave’ the club this summer is expected to complete a move to the English Championship, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement has been open about the need to move players on this summer as he seeks fresh faces, with James Tavernier and Connor Goldson two possible departures.

Scott Wright could also go after struggling to make a big impression under Clement.

Wright has now entered the final year of his contract with Rangers and is attracting interest from several clubs.

Championship outfits Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are among the right winger’s suitors this summer.

Wright is rated as ‘due to leave’ Rangers and the Championship is expected to be his likely destination.

Rangers have received enquiries from Championship outfits Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End and Derby regarding Wright’s availability.

However, it has been suggested that the Owls and the Rams both have other options on their minds as well.

Now it remains to be seen whether Wright, who has 117 appearances for Rangers under his belt, will be plying his trade in England’s second tier next season.
