Aston Villa are receiving a fee of around £1.5m from the sale of Ben Chrisene to Norwich City, according to the BBC.

Norwich confirmed earlier on Tuesday that the defender has joined the club from Aston Villa and signed a four-year deal.

Chrisene spent the first half of last season on loan in the Championship playing for Blackburn Rovers; he did not feature in Blackburn’s game with Norwich in February.

Now Aston Villa have cashed in on the defender and they will earn around £1.5m from the deal.

Chrisene had moved into the final year of his contract at Villa Park.

It is unclear whether Aston Villa have included any sell-on clause in the agreement.

Chrisene departs Villa having made just one appearance for the club’s senior side and also had loan spells at Kilmarnock and Exeter City.

At Kilmarnock, Chrisene was in a side that took on Celtic at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership and suffered a 2-0 loss.
