Crystal Palace received an approach for one of their key players from a Premier League rival earlier this week, according to the Athletic.
The Eagles are in the thick of planning for the new campaign under Oliver Glasner following an impressive first spell as boss for the Austrian last season.
Glasner lost Michael Olise earlier this summer, but has landed Ismaila Sarr as a replacement, while Chadi Riad and Daichi Kamada have also joined.
Losing another big hitter would be a huge blow though and now Palace have to deal with Newcastle chasing centre-back Marc Guehi.
Palace received an approach from Newcastle for Guehi earlier this week.
While the club would like to hold on to Guehi, the defender has shown no indication he will extend his contract, which runs until 2026.
Palace will have to weigh out whether the benefits of maximising Guehi’s value now outweigh those of having him at their disposal next term.
The defender featured for England at Euro 2024 in the summer, where he further showcased his talents.
