Manchester City midfielder Alex Robertson, who spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, is set to join Championship outfit Cardiff City for just £1m, according to talkSPORT.

The 21-year-old Scotland-born midfielder came through the youth ranks of Manchester City before he was promoted to the senior team in 2021.

Robertson was on loan at Portsmouth in League One last term and made 23 appearances under John Mousinho as Pompey won promotion.

The Manchester City man impressed at Fratton Park and it was floated that he could even return this summer.

He made five-goal contributions in his league appearances for Mousinho’s side.

Robertson however, is on the verge of joining Cardiff City and it has been suggested that the Welsh side are paying around £3m for him.

However, now it has been claimed that the Championship side are paying just £1m to Manchester City.

The deal will also contain a sell-on clause which has been described as ‘significant’.

Robertson will be looking to make his mark with his performances at Cardiff City in the upcoming season.
