Martin Zubimendi is very attracted to the idea of a move to Liverpool, with Real Sociedad now becoming resigned to the fact they could lose him.

The Spaniard has emerged as the midfield target that Liverpool want to sign to kick off the Arne Slot era at Anfield.

Real Sociedad are desperate not to lose Zubimendi and will not discuss any deal to sell him, meaning suitors need to trigger his €60m release clause with one lump sum payment.

Liverpool are thought to be in a position to do that and the battle lies in convincing the midfielder to move to Merseyside.

According to Spanish daily Noticias de Gipuzoka, Zubimendi is very attracted by the proposal on the table from Liverpool.

Real Sociedad are resigned to the fact they could now lose Zubimendi and the ball is in the player’s court.

They are keen for him to stay, however he would double his salary at Liverpool.

Real Sociedad have held several meetings with Zubimendi’s agent of late, indicating they have been aware of the possibility he could go for some time.
