Stoke City have been identified as the Championship club keen on signing Liverpool talent Lewis Koumas, according to the Times.

Koumas, who is a highly regarded prospect at Anfield, is set to sign a new contract at Anfield.

Liverpool are keen to reward the Welshman with a fresh deal in recognition of the progress he has made, but Koumas is likely to go out on loan after he puts pen to paper.

Recently it emerged a Championship side are looking to loan the attacker and now that side has been confirmed as Stoke.

The Potters are admirers of the 18-year-old and want to secure a loan deal for him.

Liverpool will want to make sure that any move makes sense for Koumas in terms of the game time he would receive.

The switch though would be geographically convenient for Koumas.

Koumas came through the youth ranks at Liverpool and made his debut in an FA Cup tie earlier this year.

He has been capped twice by Wales.
