Everton have failed with a bid for Barcelona attacker Vitor Roque but are continuing to hold talks with the Catalan giants.

Sean Dyche wants to bring in a striker before the transfer window slams shut in a little over two weeks.

Everton have been considering several forwards and Roque has emerged as a big option for the club in the final weeks of the transfer window.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Everton have made their play to try and sign the Barcelona striker this summer.

It has been claimed that they tabled a bid worth €25m plus another €3m in add-ons for the Brazilian attacker.

However, Barcelona were quick to reject the offer and are holding out for money for Roque before sanctioning his sale.

The Catalan giants want somewhere around €30m to €35m before agreeing to sell the striker in the ongoing window.

It is suggested that ‘ongoing talks’ are still happening.

Despite the failed bid, Everton remain interested in him and are continuing talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco.
