Bologna and Cagliari have both made moves in recent hours to explore a raid on Manchester United for Facundo Pellistri.

The 22-year-old winger has been widely tipped to move on from Old Trafford before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

He spent the second half of last season on a loan spell in La Liga with Granada.

Now another move could be in the offing, but this time to Italy’s Serie A.

Bologna and Cagliari are both in the process of exploring a swoop for Pellistri and, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tutto Mercato) they have made moves in recent hours.

Moving to Italy could be appealing for Pellistri, but it remains to be seen if the clubs in question want a loan or permanent capture.

Manchester United picked up the Uruguay international from Penarol in 2020.

Pellistri had two successive loan spells with Spanish side Alaves between 2021 and 2022.
