Liverpool are some way away from matching Valencia’s valuation of Giorgi Mamardashvili despite tabling two offers for the goalkeeper as the Spanish side apply the ‘Lim law’.

The Merseyside giants are serious about signing the goalkeeper before the transfer window closes in a little over two weeks.

Liverpool have been in talks with Valencia but they are far away from reaching an agreement for his transfer.

According to Spanish sports daily Marca, Liverpool have tabled not one but two bids for the Valencia shot-stopper.

However, neither of those bids came close to matching the kind of money Valencia would want before agreeing to sell Mamardashvili and it is said Liverpool are far away.

Valencia owner Peter Lim has been clear about wanting €40m for the goalkeeper since the start of the summer transfer window.

The club are sticking to their valuation due to what has been deemed the ‘Lim law’ and the bids from Liverpool were some way away from those figures.

The Reds are now considering a third bid but negotiations could break down if they do not get close to Valencia’s valuation.

Liverpool want to sign Mamardashvili this summer and immediately loan him out but for the moment, the distance between the two clubs remains gaping.
