Celtic are ‘closely monitoring’ the situation around Dundee star Luke McCowan amid Hibernian now submitting a fresh bid for him, according to Sky Sports News.

McCowan is into the final year of his contract at Dens Park, but Dundee are clear they will only let him go if their valuation of £1m is met.

Hibernian have so far failed with two offers for McCowan, however they have now just gone back to the table with a £750,000 proposal.

It is unclear if that will be enough to turn Dundee’s head, but Hibs face potentially another issue in the chase.

Champions Celtic are ‘closely monitoring’ the situation with McCowan as he is a player they are firm fans of.

The Bhoys have yet to make a formal approach to Dundee for the midfielder, however that could change.

Hibernian will now be hoping to see their £750,000 bid accepted and get a deal done for McCowan quickly.

McCowan, 26, has scored six goals and provided three assists for Dundee in their six games so far.
