Rangers linked midfielder Gustavo Puerta is closing in on a move to Danish giants Brondby.

The midfielder had only limited game time at German giants Bayer Leverkusen last season and has been tipped to move on before the window closes.

Rangers, who are looking for more creativity and are likely to lose Todd Cantwell, have been linked with Puerta this summer.

The Gers though have not made a firm move for the Colombian and he is now closing in on a BayArena exit.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Brondby are now ‘close’ to signing Puerta from Leverkusen.

The move would take the form of a loan switch.

The new Danish Superliga season has already started, with Brondby picking up seven points from their opening four games.

Brondby are involved in the Europa Conference League qualifiers and take on Polish side Legia Warsaw this evening, attempting to turn around a 3-2 first leg deficit.
