Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has prioritised a move to Napoli over other options in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Napoli have joined the race to sign the Scotland star and have already held initial talks with Manchester United over a move.

The Serie A giants would prefer to sign him on loan due to budgetary constraints but Manchester United are pushing to sell the player.

According to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, McTominay has given Napoli priority over his other suitors at this stage of the window.

His preference is to move to the Stadio Armando Diego Maradona and he wants to work under a Premier League and Serie A-winning manager such as Antonio Conte.

Napoli have already discussed the margins of a deal and commission with his representatives.

With Napoli now confident that the player wants the move, they are now working on making an offer to Manchester United.

The Serie A giants are cautiously optimistic about their chances of taking McTominay to the foot of Mount Vesuvius.
