Ipswich Town have agreed to pay Blackburn Rovers a bonus in the Sammie Szmodics deal if they qualify for Europe, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Kieran McKenna got his man last week as a deal was agreed with Blackburn to take Szmodics to Portman Road.
Ipswich and Blackburn had been haggling for a lengthy period, but a deal was pushed over the line and Szmodics came on off the bench against Liverpool on Saturday.
The deal contains a number of bonuses which could boost the final amount that Blackburn end up getting for the attacker.
And one of those bonuses will see Blackburn bag more cash if Ipswich qualify for Europe.
Many feel the Tractor Boys will simply be looking to survive in the Premier League this term, but Blackburn want to be covered in the event they surprise.
Szmodics scored 33 goals last season in a sensational campaign at Ewood Park.
Now the former Peterborough United man will get a crack at Premier League defences.
