Everton are intensifying their efforts to bring in a midfielder from Serie A for Sean Dyche before the window closes, but could face competition from Fulham.

Dyche saw his men thrashed in their Premier League opener on Saturday as Brighton visited Goodison Park and ran out 4-0 winners.

Everton even had Ashley Young sent off on what was a miserable start to their new league campaign.

Dyche fielded just one new face in the starting eleven in the shape of Tim Iroegbunam.

He is now keen on another midfielder being brought in, with Roma star Edoardo Bove a player Everton have been linked with.

Now, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via the Daily Express), Everton are intensifying their efforts to do a deal for Bove.

Everton could face competition for Bove as fellow Premier League side Fulham are also claimed to be keen on him.

Roma are expected to sell Bove for the right price and a move to the Premier League could suit the midfielder.

He is valued at around £13m.
