Dutch club SC Heerenveen are leading the race for the signature of out-of-favour Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke this summer.
Celtic signed the Swede last summer but it became very clear early last season that he was not going to be a regular in Brendan Rodgers’ team.
A loan move to Italy in the winter window collapsed at the last moment as Celtic blocked the deal due to an injury to one of their defenders.
The Bhoys are keen to move him on before the transfer window closes on 30th August.
According to German outlet Fussball Transfers, Heerenveen have the edge in the race to sign the Celtic centre-back in the final ten days of the transfer.
He has also attracted interest from Belgian side KV Mechelen but the defender is more likely to move to the Netherlands.
Negotiations are under way between the two clubs and Lagerbielke also spoke with the Celtic hierarchy on Monday.
Heerenveen are hopeful of getting a deal over the line and securing the signature of the Swede before the window closes next week.
Lagerbielke has also had interest from Italy.
