Leeds United target Jonathan Rowe has made clear he only wants to join Marseille and the French side want him signed in time to play on Sunday.

Rowe has been the subject of much interest in recent weeks and pulled himself out of Norwich City’s squad to face Oxford United in the Championship opener, which saw him demoted to the Under-21s.

Leeds have been trying to sign Rowe as a replacement for Crysencio Summerville, however Marseille have entered the race and the Whites face disappointment.

Marseille have just made a new loan with obligation to buy offer for Rowe, with the purchase price set at around €15m.

Rowe has made clear to Norwich repeatedly that he wants to join Marseille, according to French daily La Provence.

He has his heart set on the move and Marseille are hoping to get the deal done quickly.

Marseille want to have Rowe done and dusted in time for him to feature this coming weekend.

They are due to host Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening and would like Rowe to be involved.

Roberto De Zerbi is an admirer of the winger and Rowe is keen to play for the Italian.
