Al-Ahli are still some way away from meeting Brentford’s valuation of Manchester United linked Ivan Toney, but all parties are hopeful of agreeing on a deal this week, according to Sky Sports News.

Toney was left out of Brentford’s squad on the opening weekend of the season due to the possibility of him leaving the club this summer.

Brentford want to sell the striker as he is in the final year of his contract and he has a lucrative offer on his table from Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ahli are pushing to take the England international to the Saudi Pro League and have offered massive wages to the forward.

However, it has been claimed the distance between the two clubs over a fee is still considerable.

The Saudi side are yet to get close to meeting Brentford’s valuation of the striker in the ongoing transfer window.

However, all sides are hopeful that a compromise will be attained and a deal will be agreed this week.

Toney has continued to be linked with Premier League sides, including Manchester United, but so far a switch to Saudi Arabia looks the most likely.

Brentford are would prefer to sell Toney this summer than watch him leave on a free transfer next year.
