Crystal Palace are trying to assess whether a move for Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is realistic for the club ahead of next Friday’s transfer deadline, according to the Daily Mail.

Sterling was left out of Chelsea’s squad against Manchester City last weekend and Enzo Maresca has made it clear that he prefers other players over him.

Chelsea have asked the player to seek a move away from the club before the transfer window closes in the next seven days.

The Blues are trying to find a new club for the winger and Crystal Palace are amongst the clubs who are considering signing him.

However, a concrete move from Palace is still far from certain that the club are still exploring the conditions of the deal.

The Eagles are assessing carefully whether signing Sterling is a realistic option in the final week of the transfer window.

The winger is a contract worth £325,000-per-week at Chelsea and Palace cannot afford to take on those wages.

However, the south London club are keeping themselves informed about the developments around Sterling’s future ahead of Friday’s deadline.
