Luton Town are due to give a target a medical today with the expectation being that he will sign his contract with the Hatters on Tuesday.
The Championship club are looking to shape a squad to see them through to the January transfer window.
They recently splashed the cash to bring in Mark McGuinness from Cardiff City, but defence is still an area they want to add in.
A deal is now in place to bring in centre-back Nathan Ngoy from Belgian side Standard Liege for a fee around the €5m mark.
Ngoy is already at Luton, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, and is set to undergo a medical later today.
The plan is for Ngoy to then sign a long-term contract with Luton on Tuesday and complete his switch to the club.
Standard Liege are happy with the fee on offer from Luton and Ngoy looks Hatters bound if the medical passes without any issues.
Luton are still looking for their first league win of the season after losing against Burnley and drawing at Portsmouth.
