Celtic are yet to send a bid for Augsburg midfielder Arne Engles, but that ‘could change today’ as the Bhoys are ‘now pushing’ to bring him to Scotland.

The Scottish giants are set to lose their star midfielder Matt O’Riley to Brighton for a fee which cold be a Scottish record and are eyeing up a replacement.

Belgium Under-20 international Engels is a player they like and they want to bring him in before the end of this month.

It has been suggested that the Bundesliga midfielder has agreed on personal terms with the Bhoys and he is keen on making the switch.

And according to Sky Deutschland, even though Celtic have not submitted a formal offer for the midfielder that ‘could change today’.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are ‘now pushing’ to land Engels.

Engels played 33 times for the Bundesliga side last season and Augsburg would prefer to keep hold of him.

However, they could be persuaded with offers of around €10m to €15m and concrete talks have already taken place.

Now it remains to be seen if the Scottish giants will send a bid in today to Augsburg to secure Engels’ services before the transfer window slams shut.
