Portsmouth are closing in on putting the finishing touches to a loan deal with West Ham United for Freddie Potts, according to Sky Sports News.
John Mousinho is looking to fine tune his squad ahead of the closure of the transfer window, putting together the group he will have to see the club through until January.
Another midfielder is wanted at Fratton Park and now Portsmouth have an option in the Premier League they are closing in on.
West Ham midfielder Potts is the player they want and they are now finalising a loan swoop to snap him up.
Should the move go through without an issue then Potts will spend the season at Fratton Park.
It would mean a step up for Potts, who spent last term on loan at Wycombe Wanderers in League One and will now have to show he can handle Championship football.
Potts came through the youth set-up at West Ham and is highly rated by the Hammers.
Portsmouth are next in action after the transfer window has closed, against Sunderland, and it remains to be seen if Potts will feature.
