A player Celtic have made an enquiry for does not want to leave his current club and the Bhoys have not followed up on the enquiry, according to Sky Sports News.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are keen on bringing in players before the transfer window closes and are set to receive a cash influx from the sale of Matt O’Riley to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Getting a new winger is high on Celtic’s agenda and they have an interest in Lazio star Gustav Isaksen.

Celtic have been in with an enquiry about the possibility of signing the 23-year-old from Lazio.

They have not followed it up though as Isaksen is keen to stay at Lazio and fight for playing time rather than leaving.

The 23-year-old only joined Lazio last summer from Danish outfit Midtjylland on a five-year deal worth £10m.

The Bhoys are set to pocket a club-record fee from O’Riley’s departure to Brighton and they will be looking to reinvest that money to strengthen their squad.

It remains to be seen if Celtic might go back to Lazio and Isaksen before the window closes if other options do not prove fruitful.
