West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Roma forward Tammy Abraham ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, it has been claimed in Italy.
Roma have been keen to move on the forward before the transfer window closes in the next four days as they seek to shed his high salary.
A move to the Premier League has been rumoured and West Ham are the ones who are pushing to sign the forward.
The Hammers have already signed Niclas Fullkrug but they want to sign one more striker before the transfer window closes.
According to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tutto Mercato), West Ham are close to agreeing on a deal with Roma for Abraham’s proposed transfer.
The two clubs are finalising the terms of a deal that would see the striker join the Hammers on an initial loan deal.
The proposed loan agreement will also have an obligatory purchase option of around €22m to €23m this summer.
Abraham is also negotiating personal terms with West Ham and could accept a pay cut on his current €6m per year contract.
