Celtic and Leeds United are set to miss out on promising winger Edmund Baidoo as Red Bull Salzburg are closing in on him.

The Ghanaian winger is on the books at Norwegian side Sogndal and has been turning heads with his displays in the Norwegian second tier.

He has been strongly linked with a move away from Norway amid interest from Celtic and Leeds, while Premier League sides have also been keen.

The pair are set to be beaten to Baidoo though as Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg are in the ‘final negotiations’ to land the winger, according to Norwegian outlet Nettavisen.

Red Bull Salzburg are expected to pay around £3.5m to sign the winger.

There is also a sell-on clause set at 15 per cent included in the agreement.

The fee will be a record sale for Sogndal.

The Norwegian side’s previous record sale came about when they sold Eirik Bakke to Leeds United, a deal which brought in £2.15m.
