Barnsley are set to snap up Cardiff City target Victor Edvardsen from Dutch top flight side Go Ahead Eagles.
The Oakwell outfit want to bolster their final third options before the window closes and have been working to sign Edvardsen.
The forward only moved to Go Ahead Eagles last year from Swedish side Djurgardens, but struggled to make a big impact last term and the Dutch side will let him go.
Cardiff City have also been considering making a move for Edvardsen, but he is now Barnsley bound.
According to Dutch daily De Stentor, Barnsley have an agreement in place to sign the Swede.
They are to loan Edvardsen for the season and it is unclear if the deal will contain a purchase option for the League One side to trigger.
Edvardsen recently went public with his unhappiness at being overlooked for the starting eleven against RKC Waalwijk.
That did not go down well and with Go Ahead Eagles already having signed a replacement he is on his way.
He netted seven times in 37 appearances for Go Ahead Eagles last season, including against Ajax.
