Leeds United are now rated as ‘unlikely’ to sign a star in Germany they have been keen on landing, according to the Daily Mirror.

The race is on for the Whites to make signings before the transfer window closes and a number of positions are still expected to be addressed.

Leeds have been looking for another full-back to bring in, while a creative midfielder and a winger could also be added to the ranks.

Boss Daniel Farke has been eyeing a number of options in his native Germany, with Freiburg attacker Roland Sallai amongst them.

Leeds have been trying to sign the Freiburg man, who is keen to make the move to Elland Road.

It is now claimed though that it is ‘unlikely’ that Sallai will be joining Leeds this summer.

The Hungarian international looks poised to continue at Freiburg.

Leeds will have to make progress with alternative options before the transfer window closes on Friday evening.
