Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr have opened official talks to land a defender Liverpool have been linked with wanting, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

 

The Reds have just completed the signing of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but he will stay at Valencia on loan this season.

 

They are now pushing to land Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, however are yet to land a centre-back despite Joel Matip leaving and Sepp van den Berg being sold.

 

 

Liverpool could also sell Joe Gomez and in recent days they have been linked with RB Leipzig’s Mohamed Simakan.

 

Now though Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have entered the race for Simakan and they are making a big push for him.

 

 

Talks have been opened with RB Leipzig in an effort to agree a deal.

 

Al Nassr have been hoping to sign Milan Skriniar from Paris Saint-Germain, but he has not given the green light to the move.

 

 

Simakan is seen as an alternative and Al Nassr are pushing to agree a deal with RB Leipzig to take him to Saudi Arabia if needed.
