Liverpool are ‘getting closer’ to a deal with Juventus to sign winger Federico Chiesa.

The Reds have decided they want to land the Italian attacker before the transfer window closes and are moving for him.

Talks are now happening with Juventus, who are motivated sellers given Chiesa is in the final year of his contract in Turin.

Liverpool have been offering €10m plus €2m in add-ons for Chiesa, while Juventus’ starting point is that they want €15m.

Now, according to Sky Italia, the two sides are getting closer to an agreement.

It is expected to be agreed at a fee of €12m plus add-ons, with the two sides virtually meeting in the middle.

Chiesa is keen to make the move to Anfield despite having drawn interest from Barcelona this summer.

He is expected to earn a salary of around €7m per year when he signs what is expected to be a four-year deal at Anfield.
