Southampton are on the verge of landing teenage midfielder Daouda Traore from French club Nice.

Russell Martin’s side have been very active in the transfer window all summer and they are still making moves.

Saints are looking to add future prospects to their ranks and young French midfielder Traore is a player they are keen on.

The 18-year-old is very highly rated at Nice and he has represented France at Under-16 and Under-17 levels already.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Southampton are set to get their hands on the teenage midfielder.

Southampton are trying to complete the deal before the transfer deadline day on Friday and it has been suggested that Traore will join the Saints on a permanent deal.

And if a deal is completed on time, Southampton will look to loan him out immediately to ensure his growth with regular game time.

Now it remains to be seen if the Premier League side will be able to conclude a deal for the 18-year-old Frenchman before Friday.
