Motherwell are set to sign Jack Vale back on loan after Championship side Blackburn Rovers agreed to send him out yet again, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the Scottish Premiership club, ending with five goal contributions in 14 appearances.

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell was impressed with what he saw from the 23-year-old forward and wanted to sign him back on loan.

And the Motherwell manager looks set to get his wish.

The Riversiders have agreed to the move and Motherwell are now free to discuss the move with the player.

With the transfer window closing at 11pm on Friday night, Motherwell face a race against time to get Vale done and dusted.

Whether they will have an option to buy Vale at the end of the spell remains to be seen.

Back in May just before his stint with Motherwell ended, Vale refused to rule out the prospect of a return to Fir Park.
