Fiorentina are trying to hijack Everton’s swoop to bring in Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala as they know the Toffees have not yet completed it.
Lyon are keen to offload players before the transfer window closes as they look to balance the books and Mangala has been in line to go.
A move to Everton has been on the cards for the former Nottingham Forest man, but now the Toffees have competition from Italy.
According to Sky Italia, Fiorentina are looking to hijack Everton’s move.
Fiorentina know that Mangala’s move to Goodison is not sealed yet and they believe there is enough of an opening to get involved.
They want to convince Mangala to snub Everton and instead head for Serie A this summer.
A deal would have to be agreed with Lyon, but Fiorentina are working on that and will look to convince the player to slow down his move to Everton.
Losing out on Mangala would be a blow for Everton boss Sean Dyche, who is desperate for new signings.
