Stoke City midfielder Lewis Baker is expected to secure a season-long loan move to fellow Championship club Blackburn Rovers, according to Sky Sports News.

Baker left Chelsea to join Stoke City on a permanent basis back in January 2022 and has since managed 87 appearances for the Potters, scoring 18 goals from midfield.

A long-term knee injury was responsible for limiting his appearances last season and though he recovered in December, his minutes on the pitch became limited.

Manager Steven Schumacher has used him for just 22 minutes this season and now he is expected to be shipped out of the club, though on a temporary basis.

Baker is a player interesting Stoke’s fellow Championship club Blackburn Rovers and Stoke are set to sanction that move.

The Potters, on their part, have been keen on Blackburn star Lewis Travis.

A swap deal had been proposed at the start of the month, though nothing eventually materialised.

It now remains to be seen whether Schumacher’s side return with their interest in Travis.
