Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign defender Trevoh Chalobah on a simple loan deal without any option to buy in the end, according to The Athletic.

After preventing Newcastle United from getting their hands on Marc Guehi, the Eagles have now turned their attention towards finding another partner for the 24-year-old.

Chelsea’s 25-year-old defender Chalobah has been shortlisted and now work is on to take the player to Selhurst Park.

The Pensioners are open to letting the player leave as they do not consider him to be an important part of Enzo Maresca’s team.

In fact, an agreement has now been reached between Chelsea and Palace to move the player to Selhurst Park.

Oliver Glasner’s team though want Chalobah on a simple loan deal and do not want to include any obligation or option to buy in the defender’s contract.

They are set to pay Chelsea a loan fee for the 25-year-old though.

The Chelsea academy graduate played just 13 Premier League games in the Chelsea shirt last season and will follow the same route that was taken by Guehi when he left Chelsea for Palace in 2021.
