Dundee are continuing to insist Celtic have not made a bid for Hibernian targeted midfielder Luke McCowan, according to journalist Scott Burns.

Celtic are wrapping up the capture of Arne Engels from Augsburg, but continue to work to bring in another midfielder.

West Ham United’s Andy Irving is someone they are keen on, while they are also admirers of Dundee’s McCowan.

Dundee are keen to keep hold of McCowan and they continue to insist that Celtic have not made a bid for him.

There is still time for that to change, but Celtic will be in a race against time if they want to sign the Dundee man.

Hibernian are also keen on McCowan and Dundee could be tested within the next few hours.

Dundee have already turned down offers for McCowan from Hibs, but Celtic have the financial firepower to go higher.

McCowan has clocked three appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Dundee so far this season.
