Hibernian have had a bid for Celtic target Luke McCowan rejected by Dundee, according to Sky Sports News.

Dundee are battling to keep hold of midfielder McCowan as the transfer window enters its final hours.

Hibernian have made several attempts to take the 26-year-old to Easter Road and have tried again on deadline day.

They sent a bid of £800,000 to Dundee for McCowan, but it has been rejected.

Celtic have not yet made an official bid for the Dens Park skipper, however they are keen on him.

The Bhoys are considering whether to put in a bid for McCowan in the coming hours.

It is unclear exactly how much Dundee are demanding and whether Hibs will go back with a further offer for the midfielder.

The £800,000 proposal from Hibernian would have represented a club record transfer fee.
