Jay Stansfield has agreed personal terms on a contract with Birmingham City ahead of his exit from Fulham, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The League One side’s £10m bid for the 21-year-old striker shocked everyone as it was an unprecedented figure for a club in the third tier of English football but Fulham rejected the offer.

However, Birmingham continued to hold talks with Fulham and now have a deal in place to sign the forward on deadline day.

Birmingham have agreed to pay a League One record fee in excess of £10m to the Premier League side for the 21-year-old striker.

Stansfield has given his consent to the move and there is now an agreement over a contract between the striker and Birmingham.

With personal terms in place, Birmingham will be looking to put him through a medical as soon as possible.

Blues are pressing forward to get the deal over the line before the transfer window closes tonight.

Once the deal goes through it will shatter the record fee paid by a League One club for a player by some distance.
