Lille have closed the door on the exit of Manchester United and Fulham-linked winger Edon Zhegrova just days after qualifying for the Champions League.

The 25-year-old has started the 2024/25 season with a bang, scoring one goal each in the two qualifying round matches against Slavia Prague, helping them reach the league stage of the Champions League.

His performances have caught the attention of scouts from clubs as far as England with two of them exploring the possibility of striking a deal.

Both Fulham and Manchester United had made enquiries about the availability of the player and were about to submit official bids.

However, according to the French daily Le Parisien, Lille have closed the door on their attempts to make sure that they do not lose the architect of their Champions League qualification.

The Kosovo international still has another two years left on his current contract and Lille want to make the most of it.

With just a few hours remaining for the transfer window to close though, it remains to be seen who Fulham and Manchester United turn to after being rejected by Lille.

Zhegrova would have been open to a move to the Premier League had a concrete offer been made.
