Charlton Athletic new boy Allan Campbell has admitted that he has heard about The Valley’s atmosphere and is keen on making his debut on Saturday on the Addicks’ home turf.

The Addicks are keen on achieving promotion this season under the leadership of Nathan Jones and they have brought new faces to strengthen their squad.

Jones wanted to add further depth to his midfield and opted on signing Campbell, with whom he has previously worked at Luton Town, on loan.

Campbell has yet to make an appearance for Charlton and Saturday’s game against Rotherham United at The Valley could mark his debut for the Addicks.

The central midfielder stated that he is aware of the great atmosphere of The Valley and added that he is eager to play in front of a stadium full of Charlton fans.

Campbell added that their goal will be to turn The Valley into a place that opposition teams will hate to visit and he is sure that fans will rally behind the team on Saturday.

“I’m looking forward to it”, Campbell told the South London Press.

“One thing you need to keep on track is your home form and make sure nobody likes coming to play there.

“I’m sure the fans will be right behind the team, from what I’ve heard it is a great atmosphere.

“I’m looking forward to being part of it and getting going on Saturday.”

Charlton are currently unbeaten in the league so far and they will be hoping to continue their streak against Rotherham.
