Out on loan Middlesbrough star Sonny Finch has admitted it can be ‘difficult’ being so far away from home, but a team-mate has taken him under his wing.

The highly rated forward joined League Two side MK Dons from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window, penning a season-long loan deal.

He is looking to get experience under his belt and play regularly during what is his first loan move away from the Riverside.

Finch got on the scoresheet in MK Dons’ 5-1 rout of Harrogate Town last week and admits it felt good to find the back of the net.

“It’s going well. The first goal last Tuesday. Just hope I can get more, get more under my belt”, he told MK Dons’ media.

“I just need to play games, hopefully score goals and keep going.”

The Boro star is honest that being so far away from home has been difficult, but he admits that MK Dons man Ellis Harrison has taken him under his wing.

“It [scoring] helps a lot, especially being here, coming from a club where I’m close to home.

“It’s difficult being down here and not having much confidence, so it’s good to get that [through scoring goals].

“Ellis has helped me a lot. He’s taken me under his wing.”

Finch could get more game time again this evening when MK Dons are due to play host to Arsenal Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.
