West Ham United are ‘trying to raise funds’ by ‘finding another club’ for an out-of-favour star who is currently on loan away from the London Stadium, according to ExWHUemployee.

With Niclas Fullkrug looking at up to three months out injured, Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio all out of action, West Ham want attacking reinforcements.

They are being linked with a number of players across Europe, but the club spent heavily in the summer and are keen to balance the books.

Offloading stars surplus to requirements is in West Ham’s mind and the club are ‘trying to raise funds’ by ‘finding another club’ for winger Maxwel Cornet.

Cornet is currently on loan at Southampton, but has struggled to make any sort of impact on the south coast.

If West Ham can find a side to sign Cornet on a permanent deal then they could terminate his loan at Saints and sell him.

The 28-year-old wide-man has made just two appearances in the Premier League for Southampton so far this season, the latest of those being in September against Bournemouth.

He still has another two and a half years left to run on the contract he signed at West Ham in the summer of 2024.

How much West Ham would be able to raise from selling him is unclear, but a permanent departure would also take him off the wage bill permanently.
