Borussia Dortmund have drafted in former Werder Bremen centre-back Manuel Friedrich as an emergency response to their growing injury problems ahead of the derby against Bayern Munich.
Dortmund were without Neven Subotic already, but yesterday got news that Mats Hummels and Marcel Schmelzer would also be out long term after picking up injuries on international duty.

Jurgen Klopp has therefore wasted little time in signing up reinforcements as Friedrich arrives on a deal until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old had been a free agent since leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and told Borussia Dortmund's website: "I am looking forward to a cool time in the black and yellow.

"To have the Gelbe Wand (Yellow wall) behind you and not against you must be an incredible feeling."
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed the signing was borne out of immediate need, saying: "We are responding to the injuries in the defensive area.
"Manuel Friedrich has extensive experience and has left a very good impression in training with us."
