Real Madrid playmaker Isco feels that there is no reason why Real Madrid cannot "stage a comeback" and win the Spanish league this time around.

Los Blancos lost two in a row against Barcelona and Sevilla to be pushed down in the title race and are currently placed third in La Liga with 70 points from 30 games.

The Spaniard admits that the 2-1 loss to Sevilla was a big blow for his team, but feels that Real Madrid are capable of returning to the top.

"The defeat was a tough blow", Isco told Spanish daily Marca.

"It completely changed our situation from what it was just two games ago, but we are Real Madrid, and as such it's our duty to get back up.

"We're fully confident we can turn our situation around. We were six points off the pace earlier in the campaign, so why can't we stage a comeback now,"

Saying sorry to the fans for two straight losses against Barcelona and Sevilla, something that had not happened in the last five years, Isco reminded supporters of the fact that Los Vikingos are still in three competitions namely the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the domestic league.

"It's been a tough blow for them [fans] and for us, but they mustn't despair, we're still challenging in three competitions and we're going to give our all and leave it all out on the pitch", the 21-year-old added.
