Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is pondering bringing former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt back to England.

Kuyt currently turns out for Fenerbahce in Turkey, having headed to Istanbul when he ended a six-year spell at Anfield in 2012.

The 34-year-old is out of contract with Fenerbache at the end of this season and is not expected to pen an extension.

It had been thought that Kuyt could return to the Netherlands to finish his career with former club Feyenoord, where he is a cult figure.

But according to Eurosport Turkey, Southampton are a potential destination for the forward.

Kuyt, who called time on his international career this summer after winning 104 caps for the Netherlands, is thought to be under consideration by Koeman.

Koeman has presided over a strong start for Southampton in the current campaign, despite the club losing a hatful of key players over the summer.
